Meet the Ring 5 Members
Jenn has led product development and engineering teams across the consumer goods, life sciences, and environmental sectors, including leadership roles at Genentech, Procter and Gamble, and Kraft Foods. Jenn has also advised Fortune 500 companies at McKinsey & Company and is a board member and advisor to D-Rev, a non-profit focused on medical product design. She received Masters degrees in Business Administration and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University and holds a BScEng in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University in Canada.
Data and Analytics Strategy Consultant, CDO, LLC
Micheline Casey is a senior executive with over 20 years experience in private and public
sector organizations, helping them use data and analytics for growth and to achieve
strategic objectives. Her industry experience spans financial services, insurance, healthcare,
energy, and public sector. She is passionate about pushing boundaries with data, analytics,
and tech, and applying design thinking methodologies to improve data product and service delivery. She was the first Chief Data Officer at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. In this role, she was responsible for the FRB data strategy and innovation; data governance; and modernizing data science and engineering.
VP, Commercial Legal Affairs
Arthi is currently Vice President, Commercial Legal Affairs at TiVo. Previously she was General Counsel at DNA2.0 (d/b/A Atum) where she managed all legal issues for the company. Before that, she was at Broadcom Corporation managing commercial transactions for a $2.5bi division where she helped pioneer a $100mi LOB. Prior to Broadcom, she was at Wilson Sonsini. She graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology, and her Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School.
Jennifer leads the legal function of Castlight Health, a healthcare technology company, as its General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer.
Previously, she was Chief Counsel at Levi Strauss & Co., where she provided guidance and support for sales and consumer relations practices, as well as financing transactions, securities compliance, and corporate governance activities. Prior to that she was Associate General Counsel at Netflix, Inc. with a similar range of responsibilities, during a period of rapid growth.
Jennifer is chairman of the board of OneJustice, a legal-aid nonprofit organization serving underprivileged individuals in the State of California, and is a member of the State Bar of California. She has a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.

Before launching 5 Dynamics in 2010, Karen led GTCI, a data and telecommunications company, to over 1100% growth, landing GTCI on the Inc. 500 list two years in a row. Karen was named an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year finalist in 2005 and was named in the Dallas Top 25 the same year.

Marjorie Goux is Chief Legal Counsel at Clif Bar & Company in Emeryville, California. Previously, she served at The Clorox Company in Oakland, California as general business counsel to the Glad Products Company and at Hewlett-Packard Company as Chief Trademark and Anti-Counterfeiting Counsel for the Imaging and Printing Division, Palo Alto, California. Prior to her corporate roles, she was on the award-winning private practice IP team of Baker & McKenzie both in London, UK and Palo Alto, California.
When she’s not busy with business, Marjorie passionately advocates for education reform and improving conditions for women and girls in the workplace, home, and school.
Marjorie is a graduate of The University of Washington (BSc Chemistry) and University College, London (Honors Law), wife of a conceptual artist, and happy mom to amazing boy/girl twins.
Shari has dedicated her career to STEM education. Prior to joining Ignited, Shari worked in education in New York, New Jersey, and California. She piloted an alternative high school for at-risk students, taught college calculus, and developed a mathematics program to serve both gifted and challenged students in the Bay Area. Shari joined Ignited in 2000, serving in a variety of roles including Education Programs Manager and Education Director. Most recently, Shari has been promoted to CEO of Ignited, where she oversees program and organizational operations, fundraising, partnership development, strategic planning and implementation. Shari earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from SUNY Albany, her Masters in Mathematical Theory from UC Santa Cruz, and completed all coursework towards a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from NYU.
Consultant & Advisor
Alexis is passionate about building great products and helping companies achieve excellence in everything product-related. She believes that teams can achieve a great deal when they are focused, innovative, creative and decisive. Her product management experience ranges from BabyCenter, YouSendIt (now Hightail), Shutterfly, to Live!y. As a product consultant, Alexis does everything from product ideation and high-level strategy to tactical implementation and working with engineering and other cross-functional teams. She has worked with clients of all sizes and stages, such as SunEdison, Trulia, NetBase, PunchTab, Moment, SolarCity and GoDaddy.
GM for Media & Product Development, NewCo
Hayley Nelson is a savvy digital media executive with twenty years of experience at the intersection of content and technology. Nelson is currently General Manager for Media and Product Development at NewCo, a media and events company that celebrates purpose-driven businesses, where she oversees the build out of NewCo’s media portfolio and video efforts. Previously, Nelson was Director of Product Development at WIRED, where she was in charge of the Wired experience on desktop, tablet and mobile platforms.
In 2013, Nelson returned to San Francisco after a decade working in product development at The New York Times and Associated Press. She started her career in media at Wired and CNET and then worked in Singapore and Tokyo in various marketing roles.
Chief of Staff to the Chief Security Officer, PG&E
Máire Treasa (Ní Ainnín) Sogabe is the Chief of Staff to the Chief Security Officer at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), one of the largest gas and electric utility companies in the United States. Máire is responsible for program management and strategic initiatives to identify and manage physical and cyber security risks to protect PG&E's people, critical infrastructure, information assets and business operations. She has over 15 years of experience implementing complex technology initiatives in utilities and financial services obtained while working in positions of increasing levels of responsibility at PG&E and Advent Inc.
Before working at PG&E Máire worked at Advent Software, a financial software company, as the Data Exchange Operations Manager managing a team of Systems Administrators and Operators.
Associate Professor, Bioengineering
Jennifer is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. She is currently the Director of Graduate Studies in Bioengineering and the Director of the Stanford Biotechnology Predoctoral Training Program. Jennifer received her PhD in Biological Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biological Engineering. She has over 16 years of experience in protein-based drug discovery and development for applications in regenerative medicine and cancer therapy. Several of the technologies and therapeutics discovered in the Cochran laboratory are at various stages of commercialization and clinical translation, including protein therapeutics being developed as novel cancer medicines for broad patent populations.
Chief of Staff to the CEO
Emilee’s sweet spot lies in helping founders, CEOs and policymakers bring big ideas alive. She spent a decade helping innovative organizations in the energy sector win (4th person hired to help build a $2B+ carbon market on behalf of 10 U.S. states), then moved out to Silicon Valley, where she scaled a digital marketing startup from Seed to Series B as VP of Marketing and later COO.
Currently, she is Chief of Staff to the CEO at Aeris, a profitable, late-stage technology startup that is democratizing the Internet of Things. In that capacity, she fills gaps in a rapidly growing multinational organization and drives cross-functional activities to realize the CEO’s vision. A general manager with over 10 years’ experience in executive communications, marketing and operations, she excels at building provocative brands, organizing teams around clear goals, and implementing processes to get things done quickly and with purpose.
VP Business Development & Strategic Alliances, Uptima
Taly brings over 20 years of experience leading Business development, Partnerships, Marketing and Sales. A strong believer in growth through Strategic partnerships and alliances. Successfully led a comprehensive go to market with both Fortune 500 companies, small and medium businesses.
She is currently VP of Business Development and Strategic alliances for Uptima where she leads their strategic partnerships with Cloud enterprise software companies like: SALESFORCE, ORACLE, APTTUS, JITTER BIT, ARIA, SERVICEMAX and GE Digital.
Taly is also the Founder and co-owner at Bright Investments, a real estate investment company. Prior to joining Uptima Taly was the US Director of Israel Venture Network (IVN), a venture fund investing in Social Enterprises. She is also the Co-founder and a Board member of a national student leadership program - “MISHELANU” and was the Director of Marketing for CaesarStone US and a Senior Brand Manager for UNILEVER
Taly is also a former athlete, and was Israel’s Windsurfing Champion as well as a World Windsurfing Championship Bronze medalist.
